UK-Cameroon Business Meeting

Developing Markets Associates (DMA) hosted the Government of Cameroon for the UK-Cameroon Business Meeting, held at the London Waldorf Hilton on  3rd September 2013. HE Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo, Minister of External Affairs, led the government delegation, which also included HE Basile Atangana Kouna, Minister of Energy and Water Resources, HE Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, Minister of Economy and Planning.

Following opening remarks made by Lord Marland, the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy and Henry Bellingham MP, former UK Minister for Africa, the audience of leading figures from the UK investor community was provided with an overview of the investment opportunities in the country. Presentations were given by John Scott, Chief Executive, Victoria Oil & Gas and Luis da Silva, President & Chief Executive, Afferro Mining, Andre Fotso, President, Cameroon Association of Employers and Christophe Eken, President of the Cameroon Chamber of Commerce.

The event was the first time that the Government of Cameroon has showcased the country’s investment potential to UK investors and was a prelude to a full investment forum to be held in 2014.
