Liberia-UK Trade & Investment Forum

On 22nd November 2016, a senior government delegation, led by HE President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, attended Liberia’s first ever international in-country investment summit, held in Monrovia.

As one of the world’s most rapidly growing markets, Liberia is endowed with a vast untapped potential in areas such as the extractives industries and a wealth of natural resources as yet unexploited, including further significant deposits of iron ore, gold, diamonds and bauxite. And with a stable and democratic government – President Johnson Sirleaf was elected for a second term in 2011 – Liberia is gaining growing support for her future and growing investment in her economy.

The Liberia-UK Trade & Investment Forum profiled the major business sectors of the Liberian economy - Energy & Mining, Infrastructure & Agriculture – and offered a unique opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of the significant investment prospects available in Liberia. For international investors and business leaders, the Forum also offered a chance to engage with ministers and senior officials at a strategic level, as well as with other private sector participants.

DMA is privileged to have hosted the Government of the Republic of Liberia on four separate occasions in the past and looks forward to future partnerships.

DMA would also like to thank all those who supported the Forum and helped make it such a success.
