The Niger Presidential Roundtable on Investment

During the afternoon of Friday, May 5, 2023, HE President Mohamed Bazoum received a delegation of British investors from the private sector and institutions including Tysers, UK Export Finance, British Investment International, ERG, Deutsche Bank, Lloyds Banking Group and Santander.

HE opened the proceedings by expanding on Niger's potential in multiple sectors including: extensive groundwater reserves, making 20 million hectares arable for agro-industrial projects as well as significant quantities of minerals and geological potential particularly in uranium and phosphates.

He spoke on the economy needing affordable energy for production to be competitive and assist in industrialisation.

The Nigerien government, including directors general of ANEC (Agence Economy Conferences) and ANPIPS (Nigerian Agency for the Promotion of Private Investments and Strategic Projects) and representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Niger were introduced as having undertaken reform of the investment and tax codes.
