UK-Angola Trade & Investment Mission 2025

Deepening Partnerships, Driving Prosperity

The UK-Angola Trade and Investment Mission 2025 concluded in Luanda with remarkable success, marking a pivotal step in strengthening economic ties and strategic collaboration between the United Kingdom and Angola. Organised by DMA Invest in partnership with the UK Department for Business and Trade, the UK Angola Chamber of Commerce, and the British Embassy in Luanda, the mission convened over 30 UK companies alongside a wide range of Angolan government representatives, institutional leaders, and private sector partners.

Over three productive days, the mission underscored the UK’s commitment to supporting Angola’s economic transformation and promoting long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships. Delegates explored investment opportunities in sectors critical to Angola’s development—such as infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, transportation, and finance—while gaining firsthand exposure to the country’s growth potential through strategic site visits to the Zona Económica Especial Luanda-Bengo (ZEE) and the new Luanda International Airport.

A major highlight of the mission was the UK-Angola Business Forum, which provided a dynamic platform for meaningful dialogue between UK businesses and Angolan institutions. Senior speakers included HM Ambassador Bharat Joshi, UK Trade Envoy to Angola Calvin Bailey MBE MP, sector leads from the UK Department for Business and Trade, representatives from AIPEX Angola, The European Union, The World Bank, and other key stakeholders. Discussions focused on deepening commercial engagement, promoting innovation, and unlocking solutions to shared challenges such as access to finance, liquidity, and market readiness.

The mission was notable not only for its scale but for its depth of impact. Delegates left with a clearer understanding of Angola’s economic landscape and the importance of tailoring business strategies to local realities. There was a shared recognition that the future of UK-Angola trade lies in creative, practical partnerships that drive sustainable growth.

Calvin Bailey’s first official visit as UK Trade Envoy to Angola set a positive tone for a new chapter in bilateral relations, built on collaboration, trust, and a shared vision for prosperity. Both he and Ambassador Joshi reaffirmed the UK’s long-term interest in Angola’s development and the potential for trade and investment to catalyse meaningful change.

This mission laid the groundwork for a stronger, more strategic UK-Angola economic relationship. With a robust pipeline of opportunities and growing alignment between government and business stakeholders, the future of our partnership looks brighter than ever. We thank all those who contributed to making this event a success and look forward to turning conversations into concrete outcomes.
