UK – East Africa Trade & Investment Forum
The Inaugural UK-East Africa Trade and Investment saw almost 500 delegates from the worlds of business, politics and academia congregate at the historic One Great George Street in Westminster, with high level delegations, drawn from both the government and industry of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, seeing all components of the economic and political machine represented to the fullest.
Country-specific roundtables and panels such as East Africa Priority Sectors, Access to Capital, the UK Offer, the Spotlight on Healthcare and the three country sessions provided an opportunity for prospective investors and stakeholders to gain an understanding of the business and commercial landscapes within the three nations, with the blend of private and public sector speakers offering a useful and holistic view on the nature of business in East Africa today.
As the inaugural UK-East Africa forum, we were very pleased to have seen the demonstration of what are clearly incredibly strong foundations, of which we look forward to building upon year on year, whilst also offering points of reflection, through which we hope to produce an even more successful platform in the future.
We are incredibly grateful to the collaborators that made this event possible, EAA and HMG, as well as all high-level visiting delegations, Ambassadors and High Commissioners… and of course a special thanks to all our event supporters: Investec, International Hospitals Group (IHG), Africa Specialty Risks, Propav Infraestructuras, Advent Construction Ltd, Uganda Airlines, MECCO, Sidara, Global Gases Group, TheCityUK, GiveDirectly, The Private Infrastructure Development Group, British International Investment, Uganda Investment Authority, Government of Uganda, Kenya Investment Authority (KenInvest), Government of Kenya, Tanzania Investment Centre and the Government of Tanzania.
We now look forward to the many forthcoming events that populate DMA’s calendar in the latter half of 2025, with the UK-Caribbean Trade and Investment Forum in October and the UK-West and Central Africa Trade and Investment Forum in November to name but a few.
