From 10th – 12th May, the Government of Ethiopia welcomed to Addis Ababa, a distinguished select group of business leaders (representing 17 companies with a combined market capitalisation of over 5bn USD), for a high-level investment mission, led by the newly-appointed Trade Envoy to Ethiopia, Richard Beny
From 8th – 10th December, the Government of Cameroon welcomed a distinguished group of business leaders to Yaoundé, for a high-level investment mission.
From 5th to 7th October, the Government of Papua New Guinea (PNG) welcomed a distinguished group of business leaders to Port Moresby, for a high-level investment mission.
In line with the Government of Côte d'Ivoire’s agenda for attracting international investors, the mission was designed to allow for substantive and meaningful engagement with the government, for both established international companies and potential new investors. It culminated in a meeting with HE Alassane Ouattara, President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire.
In October 2014 DMA hosted a highly successful trade and investment forum in London for Rwanda. At that forum the pledge was made to follow up the investor interest created with a trade mission to Rwanda to enable investors to have further discussions with government ministers and officials.
In February 2008, DMA again organised an IMF, DFID and Government of Nigeria Workshop on Globalisation and Revenue Mobilisation in Abuja, Nigeria. In total, 140 people attended the event, including delegations from nine countries.
Attendees included ministers of finance, heads of revenue authorities, directors of policy, directors for revenue management and a senior delegation from the IMF. The Head of the IMF, Dominique Strauss Kahn and DFID Chief Economist, Tony Venables, were amongst the key note speakers.
On Saturday March 21st, 2009, Ministry of Pacific Island Affairs (MPIA) Minister Georgina Te Heuheu and DMA launched www.sendmoneypacific.org in New Zealand at Auckland’s Otara Markets.
Mrs te HeuHeu emphasised the importance of remittances to the Pacific:“Pacific people remitting money from New Zealand and Australia play an important part in supporting sustainable economic development in many Pacific Island countries,”.
